Myofascial Energetic Release

Myofascial Energetic Release

Myofascial Energetic Release (MER) is a deep, therapeutic bodywork technique designed to release tension, restrictions, and emotional trauma held within the myofascial tissues (the connective tissue that surrounds muscles and organs). MER combines elements of deep tissue massage, breathwork, and energetic journey to address both physical and emotional blockages. By working on the fascia, MER helps to restore the body’s natural alignment, increase range of motion, and relieve chronic pain. The process also facilitates emotional release, as tension in the fascia is often associated with stored emotions or past trauma. Through this integrative approach, MER supports the body’s natural ability to help, bringing balance and freedom to both the body and mind.

Session 80min – $150

3x session – $400

Sound journey, breathwork and MER can be combined for a deeper session, contact for more details.

* Wilhelm Reich, a pioneering psychoanalyst, developed the concept of the 7 belts of tension, which represent areas of chronic muscular tension or “armor” in the body. According to Reich, these belts develop as a defense mechanism in response to unprocessed emotions, trauma, or stress. The tension in these areas blocks the natural flow of energy (or “orgone energy,” as Reich called it), inhibiting emotional expression and overall well-being.

The 7 Belts of Tension:

Ocular Belt (Eyes/Forehead)

Tension in this area affects the eyes, forehead, and scalp. It’s associated with suppressing emotional expression through the eyes, such as blocking feelings of fear, sadness, or anger.

Oral Belt (Mouth/Throat)

This belt covers the mouth, jaw, and throat. It is linked to unexpressed feelings related to speech, crying, or screaming, resulting in tightness in the jaw and throat area.

Cervical Belt (Neck)

Located around the neck and upper shoulders, this belt is tied to control of emotions and impulses. Tension here often reflects suppressed anger or fear, making it difficult for individuals to express themselves fully.

Thoracic Belt (Chest)

This belt covers the chest, heart, and diaphragm area. It is associated with suppressed feelings of sadness, grief, and love. Tension in this area often results in shallow breathing and a limited ability to feel or express deep emotions.

Diaphragmatic Belt (Midsection)

Involving the diaphragm and solar plexus, this belt is related to anxiety and emotional overwhelm. Tension here can block deep breathing and the ability to relax, leading to feelings of powerlessness or frustration.

Abdominal Belt (Stomach)

This belt covers the abdominal muscles. Tension in this area is often linked to the suppression of deep-seated fears or desires, as well as issues related to personal power and control.

Pelvic Belt (Pelvis/Hips)

The pelvic belt relates to sexual energy and primal emotions like fear, rage, or joy. Chronic tension in this area can lead to a disconnection from sexual and creative energy, inhibiting full emotional release and expression.

These belts of tension are interconnected, and releasing them can free up blocked emotional energy, allowing for healthier emotional processing, greater physical well-being, and a more vibrant connection with life.
